General duties include but are not limited to:
• Assist in organizing, demonstrating, and leading recreational camp activities.
• Group supervision of participants with attention to program, health, happiness, discipline, cleanliness, safety, character and skill development.
• Able to lift 10 to 25lbs.
• Able to sit, stand, maintain physical activity for extended periods of time in a variety of environments.
• Responsible, friendly, enthusiastic, patient and willing to participate in group recreational activities.

Hours vary including nights and weekends. General Duties include but are not limited to: opening/closing fields, placing/removing tarps, preparing fields for play, general cleaning and maintenance, dispose of trash found in and around field and bleacher areas, assist/monitor field activity. Requirements include must be 18 yrs of age, must have valid NYS Drivers License, able to operate mechanical equipment, able to lift up to 50 lbs. *Pre-employment background check and drug test required (18+ yrs of age). This is a grounds maintenance position involving upkeep of lawns, gardens, shrubs, driveways and facilities. Employees in this position operate motorized equipment and light weight trucks. Work involves manual labor which is performed under various weather conditions including extremes of heat and cold and inclement weather conditions. Typical duties include maintaining ball fields, parks, trails, cleaning lodges/buildings and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles. Grounds Equipment Operators plow/shovel snow, repair fences, tables, walks, gates, etc. and installs playground, park and athletic equipment as well as assisting with recreational program setups.
Grounds Equipment Operator (Full Time)
Candidates for this position should have good knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures ; good knowledge of hand tools and power equipment; ability to perform minor repair work on facilities; working knowledge of plant care and basic landscaping; ability to follow and give simple oral and written instructions; ability to push, hold and lift heavy equipment, tools, supplies, debris; willingness to perform manual labor; willingness to work alone; mechanical aptitude; endurance; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Valid Class "D" drivers license issued by NYS Department of Motor Vehicles is required. Experience in landscaping, building maintenance, carpentry, electrical/plumbing work is preferred.
