Since the first week of June the Town Board has been meeting with the 14 Department Heads to go over their needs for the 2018 Town Budget. We look at the money spent from the 2017 Budget and what products and services are needed in the 2018 Budget to continue to provide all the services we can to the Webster taxpayer.
On Thursday, August 10th we will have our first televised Budget Workshop at 4:30 p.m. shown live on Cable Channel 12, or you can attend in person in the Town Hall Board Room located in the Van Ingen Court Building. The first workshop we will have budget reviews for the departments of Technology, Police, Library, Parks and Recreation, Cable, Finance and Human Resources.
The second round of budget reviews will take place on Thursday, August 17th at 4:30 p.m., and it will also be televised live on Cable Channel 12, or you can attend in person. This time the workshop will feature the departments of Assessing, Town Clerk, Receiver of Taxes, Highway and Drainage, Justice Court, Public Works, and Sewer.
After these two lengthy budget sessions the Town Board, along with the Finance Director, will hone in on a budget that we will present to the Webster taxpayers in October. The complete 2018 Budget alongside the 2017 budget will be printed in the October 11th edition of the Webster Herald, and will be mailed town-wide to each homeowner of Webster to review.
The Town Board will conduct a Public Hearing on the 2018 Webster Town Budget on Thursday, October 19th at 7:30 p.m. during a regularly scheduled Town Board meeting. At the Public Hearing, any and all interested residents who would like to speak on the 2018 budget will have an opportunity to do so at that time.
The adoption of the final budget for 2018 will take place on November 2nd at the regularly scheduled Town Board meeting. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Board Room located at the Van Ingen Court Building.
As you can see, Webster residents and taxpayers will have plenty of opportunities to review and comment on your 2018 Budget which will continue to provide the services you know and expect in 2018.
