The Town of Webster started the 2019 Budget process on June 1st. The first phase has been completed which is having all Department Heads submit their preliminary budgets to the Finance Director.
During the month of July the Town Board liaisons will meet with me, the Department Head they represent and the Finance Director to go over what they have submitted. At this point there may be additions or cuts to their preliminary budgets.
On August 9th and August 16th the Town Board will have televised workshops on Cable 1303 and streamed on our cable network with the complete Town Board asking questions of the Department Heads about their respective 2019 preliminary town budgets.
Then the Town Board will meet with the Director of Finance to come up with a 2019 Budget. This will also take in to account any resident comments heard at the workshops or after, and I will present my Supervisor’s Budget to the Town Clerk on September 21st.
The full budget will be available to all Webster residents in the town-wide edition of the town’s official newspaper, the Webster Herald, on October 11th. This is where Webster residents can compare the 2018 Budget with the 2019 Budget side by side.
The adoption of the final budget for 2019 is scheduled for November 1st of this year, but if any unseen matters crop up the legal deadline for adoption is December 20, 2018.
