Lake Ontario Update from Supervisor Nesbitt:

From Supervisor Nesbitt:

Today I attended the REDI Commission press conference attended by Governor Cuomo, who announced funding for five projects for the Town of Webster, to deal with high water along Lake Ontario and Irondequoit bay.
The projects are as follows:
1) $1,500,000 for Lake Road to be raised at the West end of Lake Road
2) $748,000 for mitigation retention along Sandbar Park
3) $501,000 for Town of Webster WWPS for wastewater pumps and raising the pump station on Lake Road
4) $77,000 for a floating dock and launch, for operation of the West Webster Fire Department’s boat
5) $250,000 for raising of the pump stations and the openings of the buildings on Lake Road.

I would like to thank Matt Chatfield - Webster Economic Alliance Director, George Hebert - County Legislator in the 15th District, Matthew Terp - County Legislator in the 8th District, and Allison Meyer, owner of Mayer's Marina for their dedication to this project and the many hours we all spent in acquiring these funds.

Also a big thank you to Governor Cuomo for his vision to think ahead and do these projects right the first time, so we don't have to band-aid them year after year.

This was a very demanding project, with a short time frame to complete, and I personally think Webster is going to be a better off after we finish these projects in the next year!
